The Sea Island cotton really does feel different from any tee I've owned — almost silky against the skin, yet it holds its shape. Wore it to a dinner and it looked sharp enough under a jacket, then threw it in the wash and it came out perfect.
I've washed this black tee maybe ten times now and it still looks brand new, no fading or pilling at all. The Sea Island cotton is ridiculously soft, but what sold me is how it keeps its shape after a full day of wear.
